When I walked in and saw the self serve machines, I was worried. My only self serve experience was at Yogurtland in Cupertino and it was not good. However, I was nicely surprised. The yogurt here was pretty good, very creamy. The mochi was very soft. They charge, 43 cents, an ounce, I think. Be careful because before you know it, your yogurt is going to cost you $10!

I love this joint!  It has the best original tart & mango tart froyo in SF.  The flavors and texture are so rich that I almost forgot for a moment there that it was fat free or 99% fat free.  The mango is a tad bit on the  sweet side, but you can balance it out by mixing in a pump of original tart.  I like my froyo all natural so I can't really comment on their toppings.  The only thing I can say is that the topping bar looked clean and organized.

I must admit that I went a little crazy on the mango as I pumped out $10.00 worth to bring home.  One tends to forget how much pricier it is due to location, location, location.  At $0.43/ounce it's definitely a lot pricier than usual.

What a great little place!  It's kinda like a gas station but frozen yogurt.  You just walk in, get a huge cup and fill it up with one of the 12 flavors they've got on tap.  Very cool.  Then, at the end of the self serve fro-yo bar, you can put all these toppings, as much as you want!  There's fruit, granola, yogurt chips, chocolate chips, gummy bears, you name it.  I have to warn you though, don't go overboard with the fro-yo and the toppings.  A dessert that should, theoretically, be only a couple bucks may end up costing you like $5!!  Damn those oreo cookies, rainbow sprinkles, and strawberries!!

FYI - Blueberries seem like the lightest fruit topping, just so you know!

Self serve is great! The yogurt was creamy and delicious and we've taken out from here many a time for our office. The variety keeps everyone happy!

The only reason this is not a 5star is that they don't always have (1) mochi on hand and (2) they need better cup holders/stacking tops for multiple purchases....we always wind up with drips all over when taking out 6 cups!

I am not a fro-yo expert like Yelper Lolia. After reading her review, I do not feel so bad that I could not differentiate the signature (tart) and the peach (tart) flavor. They are both good and both taste very similar. The sugar free yogurt taste just like vanilla ice cream. Their toppings are fresh. I am happy to find this fro-yo place because it is conveniently located in downtown. Oh, highly recommend the mochi balls. Yummy

3.5 STARS.

I've actually had pretty good experiences here at icebee.  However, there are some things that I think they can improve.  Here are some of my thoughts about this place:

1. Great Flavors -- The flavors are generally the same...maybe a few different flavors from time to time.  I generally have the vanilla, peach, and mango.  Good stuff, but...

2. Not Consistent -- Not consistent as in not always have the same 'frozeness'.  Sometimes the fro yo just comes out of the machine a little bit too soft.

3. Great Toppings -- Lots of variety...I guess nowadays a lot of places have good toppings.  BUT, icebee has pretty fresh fruit.  The mochi is my fav...very chewy and soft...and the taste fits right in with most of the flavors.

4. Fairly Clean -- Haven't had an experience with sticky tables..but the decor could of been better.

5. It's close to the Metreon~ so you can always bring this good froyo into the movies with you.  it's nice.

So that's my two cents...It's definitely worth giving it a shot if you like froyo.

I had the tart and the mango flavor.  The yogurt was icy and tart, just the way I like it.  The toppings were pretty varied although I must say quite messy.  They didn't keep them organized and it didn't look like the workers cared about cleaning up the messes around the topping buffet.  I always get fruit topping and kudos to them for their fruit being pretty fresh.  Kind of expensive for froyo.  A self serve place at 0.43 an ounce - you're looking at spending an average of about $4.00 a cup.

I'll go back since it's so close to Bloomies but hopefully they're a little neater next time.

A good deal (provided you can control yourself on the portion size - excellent business plan to let you serve yourself in a HUGE container since most people can't control themselves).

I tried chocolate and peanut butter, both I enjoyed, and I added chocolate chips. Yummm.

There were tons of flavors and tons of toppings. Clearly I will have to go back and try more.

My friend and I spotted this place on our way back to catch the Fremont Bart train. We definitely had to make a stop to satisfy our sweet tooth after our dinner at Mel's.  As soon as we walked in, what came to mind at first was that the place was awfully pretty small and didn't seem as attractive as some of the other frozo places I've been to in the SouthBay. When I first saw the price, at 43 cents an ounce, I was like "Whoa, I better be careful!", but as I saw the many types of flavors they had, I didn't seem to care. I suddenly turned giddy like a kid at a candy store.
I was surprised to see cappuccino, banana, cookies and cream, peach, and mango among many of the other flavors. I decided to purchase a combination of 5 different flavors mixed in with cap'n crunch, strawberries, white chocolate pieces, and mochi balls. Oh My God, as soon as I had a spoonful of my yogurt combo, I was immediately taken to heaven! The yogurt was creamy, delicious, and simply divine! It wasn't too sweet and too tart. I found it just right for my tastebuds. I'm so glad we stopped by and gave this place a try. I will definitely come back whenever I'm around the area.

I loveee this place. I once got a $10.00 frozen yogurt, no joke. When I first came here, I stuck with the original tart flavor and piled on the mochi...but I've branched out to the other flavors. Sometimes I get 4-5 flavors in one cup which probably explains the $10.00 monster cup I once got but I've never had a flavor I don't like. The fruit toppings are always RIPE (nothing makes me more depressed than green mangoes on my frozen yogurt...yes, I am fully aware that I am extraordinarily deep) which is a huge plus and I happen to really enjoy the canned peaches and mandarin orange slices. But if you come too late in the day, sometimes they start running out of certain popular fruits like mangoes, raspberries, and pineapples.

a little pricey (about $4 for a small cup), but I like the concept of build-your-own fro-yo.  I had the sugar-free vanilla and the island banana, and topped it off with mango, banana, and strawberries.  The fruit was surprisingly fresh and tasty.  The sugar free vanilla flavor was pretty decent too.  The banana flavor takes a little fake, i.e. it tastes like banana flavored candy.  This place is a decent addition to the neighborhood.

I came here after my date with the "Dark Knight". My first visit to Icebee was a hilarious experience as I poured my own fro-yo treat. (No, I'm not cheating on my wife!)

From the last time I was there, like most new businesses, they were just trying to get it started. Now, after months of being in business, I checked out what is going on or new with Iceebee.

Assumingly they have added some new flavors, I was a comic-book geek transforming into a monkey when I saw the fro-yo place has added an "Island Banana" flavor. I had a small pinch of the unique flavor and that will be the one I'll have.  Still at $.43 cent per ounce, I poured a good amount into my 8oz bowl. I added my own creation of toppings and I came out with a purchase of nearly $6.00 worth of the treat.

I enjoyed the treat while driving home. That Banana flavor was so creamy with overpowering taste and flavor of the banana. The treat was satisfying enough to make this "Chinese Ape" happy. I wish that this flavor was available when Yelp held an elite event at 1015 Folsom. Because I would pour that banana (na-na) flavor fro-yo straight into my big mouth.

Yelp makes me feel like a total loser sometimes.

After picking up lunch, I happened upon this little frozen yogurt shop a block from my office and thought, "hmm?  when did this little place open?  frozen yogurt?  when did that make a come back?"

So I walked in and was pleasantly surprised to find many appealing flavors of self serve yogurt and sampled a few of the tart flavors.  Wow!  these are unlike any frozen yogurt flavors I've ever had!   So I assembled myself a generous bowl containing a little bit of all the fruit flavors, loaded on some fresh fruit and mochi balls and the whole thing came to just over $3.  On top of all that, the cashier was all smiles and very very sweet.

I skipped back to my office and ate my yogurt while my lunch still sat in its bag.

Ohmyfuckinggod!!!!  It's so good, I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs like Mary Murphy after she sees a good Latin dance routine.  "YOU'RE ON THE HOT TAMALE TRAIN, YOU SEXY FROZEN YOGURT!!!! THAT WAS HOT HOT HOT!!!  WOOOO!!!

Excited, I go to share this on Yelp and....  WHAT!  240 reviews???  Who are these people and where the hell have I been?  I can actually see this place from my office window and mine is review 241?  *sigh*

Oh, so froyo is short for frozen yogurt! (picture a light bulb near my head)  I remember seeing this word popping up everywhere on Yelp.  I thought it had something to do with a 70's hairdo.  And it seems froyo craze has replaced the cupcake craze on Yelp...  So will Kristina R. now be the reining  froyo commando?

Oh well, unlike the cupcake craze, I'm happy to jump on the froyo bandwagon.   Woohoo!  FROYO!

Gah, I hate trends.  I am always two seasons behind.

TOO SWEET! Is this fro-yo or a soft serve ice cream place? I appreciate the fact that this place is self serve so you can get as much or little as you'd like and you pay .45 for each oz. but the ice cream is far too sweet. I'd like to see nutritional info. up like the other places but the girl behind the counter said she didn't have that. Uh huh...

Their tart isn't tart and the toppings lack in the fruit department. I do like the fact that they offer caramel and raspberry topping but like I said, it's too Dairy Queenish for my taste if I'm in the mood for a Fro-Yo.

Overall, if you're picky and indecisive, this is the perfect place to pop that fro-yo cherry but if you're a old timer with a discerning palate used to the pure original flavors, heed my warning and stay away.

Flows with a lever daily and nightly
Will it ever stop? Yo, I don't know
Take my advice, go slow

Lighten up my wallet, the price is a scandal
Serve!
Rush the flavors that loom

Deadly!

The Cookies n' Cream flavor is to die for... literally. I was coming out of the garage and the crowds were preventing people from leaving. I asked what was going on, and apparently there was a guy running around with the gun.

OK, do I....

1) Hide behind the crowd and wait to see what happens?
2) Bypass the crowd and potentially get shot... all in the name of hunger?

In retrospect, I can't believe I actually pushed past a crowd and shared my sidewalk with some random gunman rather than consider my own safety and possibly wait it out... but that's how hungry I was, and that's how good this yogurt is.

Icebee is the perfect froyo-dessert place for a greedy food schizo like me. I always want one bite of everything, instead of a lot of just one thing. I pass by Icebee every day but as an ardent Pinkberry fan, am uber wary of any Pinkberry knockoffs because they always, always disappoint. I finally walked in yesterday and made my own concoction: one tiny dollop each of blueberry and mango yogurts, a bigger swirl of natural flavor yogurt, topped with about 6 blueberries, a few pieces of mango, a tiny bit of reese's PB cup, a teaspoon of granola and a couple pieces of cookie dough. It satisfied every craving - tart, sweet, fruity, PB, cookie, etc. The yogurt falls a TEENY bit short of Pinkberry's (for which there is no true substitute, try as the knock-offs might), but I LOVE that you can decide exactly how much of each yogurt and topping you want.

This place is kind of cool . It's like one of its kind . There's like 12 different flavors to choose from . You can mix and match however you want . You can also add whatever toppings you want . It's all self-serve so you can add whatever you want to your yogurt . They just weigh it all in the end and then charge you . The yogurt isn't exactly the best but it's decent . Definitely worth a visit .

This is a GOD SEND... omg. No, really.

I went here for the first time after the movies on Saturday night.. HELLO, there were a ton of flavors, everything is self serve, you can get swirls of two flavors, theres a TON of toppings..

and the best part is (for my poor little diabetic pancreas..)

SUGAR FREE YOGURT!!

trust me.. not easy to find.

AND the fact that there isn't just sugary syrups and sprinkles to pile on your yogurt, but also STRAWBERRIES and KIWI and MANDARIN ORANGES??

A lot of people here said its too sweet but.. really, lay off using so much rasberry and caramel syrup.

I got a huge cup of frozen yogurt with strawberries and coconut topings for just 3.50  and it was more than enough to eat... its a good snack after going to the century theater or the metreon too.

This was my first time eating frozen yogurt, aka FRO YO.  I had big expectations and my friends were hyping not this place, but frozen yogurt in general.  I was excited to walk in.

I noticed that it was self serve which a lot of people enjoy but not me.  You see, if I wanted $3.00 worth of frozen yogurt, I wouldn't know because I wouldn't know how much I should pour or how much toppings to put on. Instead I thought I had about 5.00 or less worth of fro yo when instead it ended up being $6.20. What the hell?
If it was not self serve, then you could ask the person behind the counter to fill you up 3 dollars or whatever amount worth of frozen yogurt without you, the customer, looking like a dumb ass for overloading the cup.

I also had made myself a bad combination which made it a somewhat bad cup at the bottom with tart yogurt.  However, the mo-chi and strawberry flavor are out of this world!

I need to go back and try non tart yogurt because I feel that I could have had a better experience.

If, like me, you were worried that the surge of tart-natural-pinkberry clone yogurt places around the Bay Area meant saying hello to mango and mochi and a sad goodbye to some of the old favorites like peanut butter and chocolate, never fear; Icebee has the best of both worlds covered.  I counted about a dozen flavors on tap here, and a good mix of tart, fruity flavors and the chocolaty sweet stuff I remember from the 90's.  They offer sample cups at the counter so you can taste before you indulge.  I wouldn't recommend the cappuccino or banana flavors, for the record.  The tart natural was a little sweeter than some but very good nonetheless, and my winning combination ended up being cookies and cream and peanut butter.  The toppings were fresh and varied, and as you serve yourself here, you don't have to worry about skimping on the cookie dough chunks or fresh fruit.  My only gripe about this place are the huge serving dishes.  At nearly 50 cents an ounce, don't let the gigantic cups tempt you into filling it up unless you're ready to fork over some major cash.  Nothing sours the flavor of good yogurt faster than realizing you've just poured yourself a seven dollar serving.

You know you're addicted to fro-yo when you're eating it on a freezing cold day in the city, wearing flip flops and dressed for summer.  I started my birthday fro-yo tour with Icebee.  That's right.  All I really wanted to do for my birthday was find some froyo places to yelp about.  Totally addicted to froyo and totally addicted to yelping about fro-yo.

This place was similar to Tartini in that it's self-serve, but Tartini is way better than Icebee.  The yogurt was good, not the best because it was a little watered down.  Also, their tart original was out of order!  I settled for blueberry tart and banana, with my mochi and blueberry toppings.  That actually turned out to be a really tasty combination.  Blueberry and banana go well together.  Ah.  Now I feel like making a smoothie.  Anyway, the flavors were good but the mochi tasted like it'd been sitting out overnight and definitely wasn't fresh.

I still wanted to sample some more flavors but I think I was just getting brain freeze.  The place is really cute, lots of glass tile mosaics and those frosted glass walls with tree decorations also make me feel like decorating my bathroom that way.  Overall, it was a good place but I've still had better.

ICEBEEEEE!

Finally.  I've been dying to come here but I had no reason to be on Mission for the longest time.  So after our trip to NB/CT and lunch at Petite Deli, I dragged his ass here.  No parking so we had to park in the stupid lot.  Stupid no parking from 4-6 on Mission.

There were 12 flavors to choose from.  I tried a little bit of 4 diff flavors; strawberry, mango, original, and banana.  He tried peach.  I got mochi & banana, he got gummy bears.

I'd pass on the strawberry..it tasted more like strawberry ice cream, I was expecting something similar to sorbet.  The mango and peach were both delicious.  The fruits they had also looked very fresh..but they were out of mangoes and strawberries.  They only had one person working when we went so I guess it makes it hard to replenish when its busy.

$8.51 for our 2 cups.  We both kinda cringed at the price..but we're spoiled by Tuttimelon's prices...can't really beat .99.

My FAVORITE froyo place!! Now, I haven't made my way to all of the froyo places in the city but I have tried Jubilee, Tutti Melon, Swirl Culture and then Pinkberry in LA, and this place is definitely my favorite thus far.  Yes, I said it...I like it better than Pinkberry.  I mean let's be honest here, in reality so long as the yogurt tastes decent its hard to really distinguish one place from another but there are a couple of things that make Icebee unique to me.

First, it's self-serve and you pay by the ounce.  What I like about this is that you don't have to be restricted between a $3 price that will leave unsatisfied or a $6 or $7 price that will burn a whole in your pocket and sometimes (but never for me) be too much yogurt.  Also, you can pick as many toppings as you want instead of having to choose three.

A second thing I like about Icebee is that they have 12 flavors!! So far, I like blueberry and peanut butter the best.  But not necessarily together.  They have pretty much all the toppings I could ever want so that's great as well.

The decor probably isn't as flashy as Jubilee and definitely not as interesting as Pinkberry but what I do like about the location is that it's less than a five minute walk from Powell Bart!  At least for me, none of the other places are very convenient either from where I work or where I live.

I've been there 4 times in the past week and a half so if you make the intelligent decision of choosing Icebee you're bound to run into me!

I'm a huge fan of self-service frozen yogurt shops, so I was ecstatic to learn about IceBee.  I have been there several times and the yogurt takes fine but it's not as good as Yogurt Park in Berkeley.  My favorite flavor is peanut butter but Yogurt Park offers a creamier version.  However, I love the idea of self-serve toppings; thus, I stop by here several times per month.

The topping selection is pretty decent but not as vast as Big Spoon in Sacramento.  Another gripe is that they don't offer hot fudge or other warmed sauces in a pump.  They do have these squirt bottles of sauces such as white chocolate but it seems nasty and cheap.

Also, it should be mentioned that this shop is very expensive!  The other self-service shops cost under $.40 per ounce.  Not this place!  Beware because I have seen people pay up to $8.00 for a cup of yogurt!  I once spent $5.00 because I loaded up on some tasty sweets.

IceBee does get points for the cool modern decor complete with tiled walls.  Bonus points are awarded for playing the Sirius metal station despite the yuppie and mom crowd.  There's nothing better than hearing Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" while scarfing down some yogurt.

A long time ago , in a place far far away I was once a TCBY regular, and no I didn't hangout at the airport. Recently I've noticed , the Fro Yo bandwagon is definitely making the rounds in Es Eff.  Are you on board?

Icebee's differentiator (in the swirl- ha ha , of yogurt shops, it's important to have one)  is self-service. I like to be able to add a splash of  coffee or blueberry to my vanilla and layer toppings,  it's how you do it!  Control of the portion size in accordance w/ my craving and/or wallet is also a plus.

So I thought the point of having both conventionally sweet and tart flavors of yogurt were to give people the option of which they would like to have.  Then why are the "tart" flavors so sweet???  If I wanted TCBY-like froyo then I would jump back into my time machine to 1987 and eat some.  Please do not offer "tart" yogurt that is overly sweetened.

After looking at the pictures people posted up on here, it's clear why I wasn't happy with mine.  The froyo was definitely good, it's just that I picked yucky toppings...What can I say?  I had a Cap'n Crunch craving.  Actually, we all picked toppings that didn't match the froyo LOL.  Next time I'm going to be safe and I'll stick with the fruits.  I would have scored with blackberries, but they didn't have any out.  Although honestly at 9pm the toppings bar needed a little cleaning up.  I'm coming back after my next Bloomingdale's excursion.

Didn't care for this place.....I though the flavors were too artificial tasting.

I tried a few of their flavors:
Cable Car Chocolate (ok)
Banana (had a very fake banana flavor)
Cappucino (tasted like ass)
Peanut Butter (didn't taste like peanut butter)

I have to say the best thing about this place was the toasted chopped almonds I had for the top.
The gal at the counter was very nice too.

self-served!!! mucho fun, love all the toppings they have. i have only tired the "tart n tangy" flavor and really am not interested in trying the others. I have heard the others are just like regular flavored soft served yogurt, nothing too spectacular.

minus one star as for the service or lack thereof.

Blueberry frozen yogurt? Holla!

I made a proper pig out of myself here. But happily walked away not feeling like one.

I need to get into this tart flavored froyo thing. I have a feeling I would really like it if they are as awesome as Icebee.

IceBee. If I was an MC in the early 90's this may have been the name I would've gone with since Grandmaster B was taken by the legendary Bud Bundy. Not sure what "IceBee" has to do with froyo though.

At 43 cents (or was it 45 cents?) an ounce, this place is on the expensive end of the self-serve froyo places.

Their Tart was mehhhh. There's something to it that didn't taste right. I think it was a little too creamy?

On the plus side, their fruit was perfectly ripened and delicious. Mochi pieces were good too.

I had to fill my cup up with more froyo since they only let you pay with your card if your total is over $4. I ended up at $3.50, added a tiny bit more or froyo, came back to the counter, and it ended up to be $5.50... There's NO WAY that I added 4 oz. to that cup. Damn you, IceBee, for screwing with me. I should've ate a big spoonful in front of the cashier and told him to re-weigh it.

3 stars. Their Tart isn't as good as it could be, and I'm a big Tart fan.

Oh yeaaaaaaaaah. What's not to like? Every single topping you can think of, and the fact that it's not-as-bad-for-you as Ice Cream frozen yogurt (and cheap to boot!) just sweetens the deal. The location is a bit out of the way, but it's well worth trekking to if you're already in the downtown area on a hot day.

Hey man, pass on the 'tart', get plain ol' vanilla! That's the best flavor by far if you want to pig out with toppings! Chocolate's not bad either, same with blueberry, if its available. Bring your sweet tooth!

A help yourself fro-yo place ala Yogurtland. A bit pricey at 43 cents per ounce. Geeze.
I had the Signature Original Tart and Mango tart flavors. They were pretty good, Mango tart is better than the Original Tart. I actually didn't have that much in my bowl but the total came out over $2... man...
The place was packed and a little bit dirty, I'm guessing from all the foot traffic they get from being on Mission St.

Yum! Another self-serve yogurt place! :) Highlights include the plain tart, mango tart, and peach tart. The plain tart had a nice creamy texture while the other two were a bit icier. The flavors were really good for all of them with the right amount of tartiness. I also liked that the flavorted tarts were distinct and not subtle. A few things that I didn't like were the price and the store size. It was 43 cents/oz, which is significantly higher than Frozo's, Yogurtland, and Tartini. I came here and got three little squirts of the tart flavors just to try and it came out to almost 3 bucks! If it wasn't for that, I might've given 5 stars. Also, the placement of the yogurt machines aren't in the most convenient spot, especially if there's a long line. Other than that, I'd recommend trying this place!

The set up of this place is just like Yogurtland! And I heart Yogurtland! The way the yogurt machines are curved around the wall, you could taste all you want and the workers won't even know. ha ha ha ha ha :)

They have all different flavors ranging from Chocolate to Mango Tart to Peach Tart to Cookies and Cream, and so on. Definitely hits the spot for tarty and non-tarty yogurt lovers.

I love fresh mangoes to top my yogurt and I was kinda skeptical of the ones they had here. They looked hard and frozen over but they were actually perfect. Tons of toppings (mini gummy bears to fresh fruit)...I would definitely come back to the place the next time I'm around the area :)

Somewhat on the expensive side since from what I could recall, it was about 49 cents an ounce. Ouch... sigh! The price you pay for yogurt goodness....
